Revolutionizing All-on-4 with Smile XZ

Smile XZ is a more sophisticated approach to All-on-4 treatment. This method is exclusive to Southern Dental Implant Center. Our proprietary full arch tooth replacement option with implants gives us complete control over every step of your care. Everything is produced and performed in-house, and all smiles are digitally designed to our patients’ faces using special 3D software.

On the day of surgery, the implants are placed, and special 3D scans are made of the implants, also known as photogrammetry. This is then linked to the pre-designed smile. Your dentist in Memphis, TN, digitally creates a prosthesis and 3D prints it that same day so your restoration can be secured to the implants immediately. Our patients leave that day with a fully customized and secure smile.

Next is the SXZ1 prosthesis, a full zirconia prosthesis, which is much stronger. Our goal is to have this completed and in place within a week. After 3-6 months of healing, we start the process of creating your highly refined cosmetic zirconia prosthesis, which we call SXZ2. This is our best-fitting, strongest, and most beautiful smile design available.

With Smile XZ, we have refined the All-on-4 process to ensure the highest quality restoration possible. Our goal is to help you achieve the smile of your dreams, and we won’t stop until you are 100% happy with it.

The Three Stages of Smile XZ

Dr. Jason Collier designed his own approach to All-on-4 treatment, Smile XZ, and you will find it only at Southern Dental Implant Center.

Same-Day Teeth With Precision

Your new smile is designed digitally before surgery day. Once the implants are placed, we take a precise 3D scan that records exactly where each one is placed. That scan is photogrammetry, and it lines the design up with the real implants. Our in-house lab then 3D prints your prosthesis the same day, and it is secured to the implants before you leave. You walk out with fixed teeth.

SXZ1 Zirconia Within a Week

The printed prosthesis is worn for the first few days. Next comes SXZ1, a full zirconia prosthesis that is much stronger than the printed type. Our goal is to have SXZ1 in place within a week of your surgery. This transition provides a durable, long-term solution designed to support your smile with added strength and confidence.

Your Refined SXZ2 Zirconia

Your jaw needs three to six months to heal around the implants. When that healing is done, we begin the SXZ2 process, the highly refined cosmetic zirconia prosthesis. It is the most precisely fitted and beautiful restoration we make. Every stage happens in one building in Cordova, TN, with the same doctor and the same lab technician.

Your Smile XZ Arch
Is Made in This Building
Our In-House Lab in Cordova, TN

Many Memphis dental offices send full-arch work out to an external lab, which introduces delays, communication barriers, and quality control problems. Southern Dental Implant Center built its own in-house dental lab in Cordova instead, so Dr. Collier designs, mills, and fits your Smile XZ arch without your case ever leaving the building.

Planned in 3D Before Surgery Day

CBCT scanning shows Dr. Collier your bone density and the anatomy around each planned implant site in three dimensions. Intraoral 3D scanners and 3D facial scanning feed the same software, and smile preview lets you see the size, shape, and position of your future teeth before any procedure starts.

Printed and Milled On Site

Our 3D printer produces the prosthesis you leave with on surgery day. Our Ivoclar PM7 milling machine crafts the permanent full-arch bridge, milling materials such as zirconia and PMMA with accuracy and efficiency.

Adjusted in Real Time

Because our lab technician works in this office, fine adjustments to your restoration happen while you are in the chair rather than across a shipping cycle between appointments.

We Make Smile XZ Affordable Honest Cost Estimates and Flexible Financing

Like traditional dental implants in Memphis, TN, All-on-4 dental implants don't qualify for coverage under basic dental insurance plans. However, you can expect that these policies will contribute to at least a portion of the cost of the denture and any preparatory work you require, such as treatment for gum disease, or extraction of natural teeth that cannot be saved.

Southern Dental Implant Center in Cordova is a provider that believes in making this implant treatment accessible to patients who need it. We offer financing that can allow you to pay for your treatment in monthly installments that fit your budget. During your free consultation, you will receive a cost estimate. At that time, we can explain your financing options and begin working with your provider to secure the best coverage possible for all applicable portions of your treatment.

What Your Free
Smile XZ Consultation Includes
An Honest Estimate and a Way to Pay for It

Every consultation at Southern Dental Implant Center is free. You sit down with Dr. Collier, talk through what full arch restoration would involve for your mouth, and leave with a cost estimate in hand.

A Look at Financing Options

We offer CareCredit® financing for out-of-pocket expenses, which breaks your cost into manageable no-interest or low-interest monthly payments. Our staff can also start you on a Proceed Finance or Cherry Financing application. Any of the three can spread treatment across installments that fit your budget.

Time to Ask Everything

We are not a dentistry mill and we do not rush our patients. Our team takes extra time to answer every question and address your concerns, so you can decide about full-arch treatment without pressure.

Convenient Coordination

Your consultation happens at our Cordova office. Dr. Collier also works with an extensive group of referring dentists in a team approach, so if your general dentist sent you here, he handles the surgical phase and coordinates with them on your restorations.

When All-on-6 Fits Better

If you happen to need more than four implants to support your denture, but still want to be able to skip the bone graft, we also offer the All-on-6 solution. As the name implies, it incorporates two additional implants for added support. During your consultation, we can determine which of these techniques will best suit your needs and provide a stable foundation for your denture.

All-on-X is the term for a full arch supported by more than four implants. Two extra implants give the arch more support. Dr. Collier offers All-on-X whenever a case calls for more than four.

Which option is best for you will be covered at your free consultation. Dr. Collier uses CT scanning to plan treatment, so he can study your jaw in three dimensions before anyone talks about implant counts. Either way, the aim is the same: a fixed full arch, placed without a bone graft when your anatomy allows it.

Fixed Teeth or a Snap-In Denture? Comparing Your Full-Arch Options

If you are missing a full arch of teeth, Smile XZ is one of three ways to replace it. The differences show up in how you eat, how you clean them, and what happens to your jawbone over the years.

Traditional Removable Dentures

A conventional denture is made from acrylic, offers minimal support, and must be removed to clean. It often loosens or falls out, and it does not halt the jawbone loss that follows missing teeth. That recession eventually produces a prematurely aged appearance.

Implant-Supported Removable Dentures

Stabilizing a denture with two or more implants stops the slipping and improves jawbone health, and removable types can still be taken out for easy cleaning. This option restores about 60% of your dental function. Read the full comparison of fixed vs. removable dentures.

A Fixed Full Arch With
Smile XZ

Your Smile XZ arch is designed from a block of zirconia and fixed to four to eight implants. It restores over 98% of dental function, resists bacteria, decay, and fracture, and is cared for like natural teeth with no additional maintenance. Dr. Collier compares all three with you at your free consultation.

One doctor follows your case from the first consultation through the final restoration, and the lab work is done by a technician in the building. Nobody hands you off to another office or ships your teeth to an outside lab. Southern Dental Implant Center serves Memphis and the Mid-South area, and the first consultation is free.

A Revolutionary Approach

Your Smile XZ Basics Explained

All-on-4 is an implant denture placement method that uses just four implants per dental arch instead of the usual six to eight. The two implants at the back of the jawbone are placed at angles that maximize support from the remaining jaw tissue. This means many patients can both skip preliminary bone grafting and have a temporary denture attached immediately following surgery.

High Praise for Our Team

A Faster Track to a Repaired Smile

As our patient, you can expect outstanding treatment at every stage of your care.
As our patient, you can expect outstanding treatment at every stage of your care.

Anesthesia

Before your dental surgery begins, you will receive local anesthesia that will keep the treatment area numb throughout the procedure. Sedation is available upon request.

Incisions and Placement

Dr. Collier will make incisions in the gums. Next, he will create small pilot holes in the bone tissue and insert the dental implants. The two front dental implants are placed vertically; the two posterior dental implants are placed at angles. Finally, the dentist will close the incisions to form a seal around the implants. A portion of the dental implants will remain above the gumline in order to attach to the dentures.

Temporary Dentures

In the majority of cases, patients receive a temporary denture immediately following placement of All-on-4 dental implants. You will be discharged from our care to rest for the remainder of the day, and we will schedule follow-up dental visits to monitor your healing.

Permanent Restoration

Your permanent restoration will be perfected while you heal over the next several months. Once it is ready, you will return to our office, where your dentist will place your permanent dentures. During this appointment, Dr. Collier will ensure proper fit and function. We want you to be completely satisfied with your new smile.

Complete Your Smile Transformation

You will wear your temporary full-arch denture for about three to six months while your implants become permanently fused to your jawbone. During this time, you will already be able to experience the benefits of improved enunciation thanks to a stable and secure denture. You will also find that there is no need to shy away from photos or sharing a laugh with friends. Your denture will stay in place the entire time.

However, you won't be able to eat tough, crunchy, or chewy foods until you have completely healed. Until that time, you will want to eat only soft foods and liquids.

Once Dr. Collier confirms that the implants have completely fused with the jawbone, you can receive your permanent full-arch denture. Following this step, you can begin using your dentures to enjoy any foods you choose, from crisp apples to barbecue.

All-on-4 (Smile XZ) FAQ

Does implant placement hurt?

No. You will be completely numbed before this dentistry treatment begins. For those who feel anxious or have trouble sitting comfortably for long periods, IV sedation is available to ensure you are completely comfortable. Dr. Collier is certified in this technique to help you experience deep relaxation in complete safety.

How long will my dental implants last?

All-on-4 dental implants are made of titanium. With proper care, they can last a lifetime. All you have to do is treat your replacement teeth just like natural teeth: brush twice a day, floss at least once each day, and make sure to see us at least twice a year so we can detect and treat any oral health issues as soon as possible.

Are traditional implants "better" than All-on-4 or Smile XZ?

The only thing that makes one type of implant better than the other is the needs of the patient. All-on-4 is only for those who are missing a full arch of teeth on the upper or lower arch. However, a person who is missing all of their teeth could also choose to receive six to eight traditional implants per arch to support their denture. Dr. Collier will gladly answer your questions during a consultation, but generally speaking, patients who choose to support a full denture with All-on-4 implants will experience no difference in stability and other benefits than those who choose traditional implants.

Can All-on-4 be part of a full mouth reconstruction?

Absolutely. For patients with extensive tooth loss, damage, or bite problems, All-on-4 is often a key part of a full mouth reconstruction in Memphis, TN. Dr. Collier can combine implants with other restorative treatments to rebuild function, health, and appearance. Ask us about full mouth reconstruction in Memphis, TN, during your free consultation.
